Clinical Lab Technologist

Clinical Lab Technologist to regulate the flow of tissue specimens in and out of the Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN) Midwestern division as well as the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC).

Responsibilities include maintaining communication with investigators; setting up and preparing tissue shipments; Maintaining inventory of supplies for shipping; coordinating shipments from Case Western Reserve University, The University of Pittsburgh, and the Tissue Procurement lab on Main campus; working closely with billing department to ensure accurate invoicing; developing a functional knowledge of the RTP-IS, Tissue Quest2 and Investigator Plus databases. Maintaining Federal IATA/DOT shipping regulation certification; Reassigning specimens to investigators or transient storage as needed. Maintaining an accurate record of samples in transient storage through proper organization and record keeping; Coordinating the shipment of specimens to OSU CCC internal investigators; Preparing and shipping fresh, frozen and fixed tissues (paraffin embedded and slides) to external CHTN investigators; Building and maintaining effective working relationships with investigators; Documenting transactions related to shipping; generating packing slips in RTP-IS Database.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Science, General Biology, or related field.
