Production Technician (Racing Electronics)

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Production Technician based in our Concord, North Carolina office.

This person is responsible for preparing, assembling, inspecting and packaging various types of two-way radio and listen-only products.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, assemble, inspect and package various types of two-way radio and listen-only products (ie: car harnesses, headset cables, adapters, Push-To-Talk buttons, helmet kits and pods, inline PTT buttons, surveillance kits, antenna cables, headsets, ear mold cables, circuit boards, transducers, etc.).
  • Strip cables, removing or preparing any shielding, stripping and tinning individual wires, adding heat shrink where necessary
  • Inserting components (wires, mounts, PTT buttons, cables, switches) into cups, boxes, cases, pods which have been drilled, trimmed or otherwise prepped to be ready for wiring and adding proper cable restraints.
  • Solder wires to connectors, pins, end-to-end to other wires, circuit boards, transducers, speakers, buttons, microphones, etc.
  • Use cable strippers, snips, screwdrivers, x-acto knives, drills, crimpers, heat guns, solder, adhesives, epoxies
  • Troubleshoot and repair assembled products as well as finished goods
  • Perform customizations for special projects
  • Operate over mold machine, pad printer and/or rotary engraver
  • Fill out work log and repair orders

Required skills / experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Soldering experience is preferred but not required.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively to customers and employees of the organization.

Proficient on Company-provided hardware and software including email and basic Microsoft Excel skills (reading/updating spreadsheets).

Able to follow specific instructions.

Able to follow build schematics.

Able to accept feedback and follow recommendations.

Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Willing and able to learn a variety of tasks.

Attention to fine detail is a must.
