The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) is home to nationally recognized programs focused on health and wellness - and a respected faculty dedicated to teaching innovations and research partnerships. The college offers accredited programs in athletic training, communication sciences and disorders, physical therapy, and social work. CHPS also offers one of UCF's largest majors, health sciences, as well as popular programs in sport and exercise science within the field of kinesiology. Through coursework, field experience, and interprofessional education, our students develop high-demand skills in healthcare and cultural competency for working with varied populations.

The Opportunity:

The College of Health Professions and Science (CHPS) Dean's Office is seeking candidates for an Administrative Assistant I position to join their leadership team. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Dean's Office by managing front desk activities, managing office operations, and contributing to the planning and execution team(s) for college events, and programs.

Responsibilities:

Front Desk:


  • Handle the opening and closing of the main office and conference rooms.

  • Greet all visitors and provide employees, and guests with information regarding programs, resources, and services.

  • Answer all telephone calls and return all voicemail messages.

  • Accept and sign for all packages that are delivered and notify the recipient.

  • Screen, sort, and deliver all postal mail.

  • Maintain a log for the key lock box and keys.

  • Maintain a collection of lost and found items log for the building.

  • Support the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of the front desk student employees.


Office Management:


  • Ensure standard office machinery (e.g. phones, printers, copiers, shredder, and fax) are in working order.

  • Support scheduling efforts of meeting spaces and open/close those spaces for meetings.

  • Provide general technological support for conference room equipment.

  • Order, restock, and maintain inventory of office supplies.

  • Assist any administrative personnel in tasks, projects, meetings, workshops, and events.

  • Submit facility work orders as needed.

  • Carry out any other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior customer service experience.

  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.

  • Ability to work both independently and on a team.
